Lymphedema Therapy

Certification 2 week course

During this two week course, each participant will receive instruction on all components of Complete Decongestive Therapy to include manual lymph drainage, bandaging, skin care and patient education. Upon completion of the class, the therapist will be able to differentiate between the normal and impaired lymphatic system as well as, understand the application, medical indications and contraindications for MLD and CDT. The therapist will be able to identify a CDT treatment plan for individuals with primary and secondary lymphedema and perform the therapy for lymphedema .

CE's available for PT's (35 hours) and LMT (35 hours).

Classes will be held at LIA: 1701 NW 82nd Ave. Miami, FL. 33126

Class time: 8:30am to 5:30pm

Why Kinesio Taping?

Correct Muscle Function - Kinesio Tex Tape is effective for reconditioning the abnormal muscle tension and strengthening the weakened muscle.
Improve Circulation of Blood/Lymph - Kinesio Tex Tape will eliminate the tissue fluid and bleeding beneath the skin by moving the muscle.
Suppress pain - Neurological suppression of pain occurs by applying the tape to the affected area. Also, pain will be suppressed as mentioned above.
Reposition the Subluxation Joint - The dislocated joint bone, due to abnormal muscle tension, can be corrected by taping which will recover the function of fascia and muscle.
