The Proximel® silicone foam wound dressing by Hartmann USA was designed to provide gentle, yet effective wound management to enhance patient comfort and promote optimal wound care and healing. The unique five-layer silicone foam dressing is gentle on skin to help reduce irritation and pain, enabling the dressing to be changed without stripping epidermal cells. It may also be lifted or repositioned without the risk of leakage or loosening, while small perforations in the absorptive pad reduce risks of in-growth. The foam layer of Proximel® evenly distributes fluid across the dressing to help prevent maceration of the skin, while providing a waterproof barrier that seals out bacteria and contaminants.
Indicated for use for pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers, traumatic wounds, surgival wounds, donor sites, skin tears, first and second degree burns and dry or necrotic wounds.
