Komprex II foam is an excellent padding source for lymphedema wrapping, but at the same time, the unique channeled surface of Komprex II provides a firm but gentle micro-massaging effect that helps soften fibrotic tissues and thickened skin. The channeled layers of the Komprex II foam sheet not only help loosen the fibrotic tissue caused by lymphedema, but also provide enhanced air flow for greater wearing comfort.

Lymphedema Wrapping - Lymphedema Bandaging
Uniquely designed, Komprex II foam by Lohmann & Rauscher is constructed of narrow strips of open cell, rounded polyurethane foam rubber which is surrounded by a soft and breathable, skin-friendly non-woven polyester fabric. While resembling strips of spaghetti, the uneven channeled surface of Komprex II helps soften thickened, fibrotic tissues through it’s gentle massage effect. The channeled layer construction of the Komprex II foam sheet not only helps loosen fibrotic tissue, but also provides enhanced air flow between the layers for greater wearing comfort.
Komprex II is used to provide padding and compression in phlebology and lymphology applications, and may be used in combination with other compression products to increase local pressure, aid in lymph flow and help soften fibrosis.
(Note: The channels within the material should be aligned in the direction of the lymph flow, with the soft, fabric side of the product placed against the skin over a tubular stockinette. Outer compression may be achieved with a layer of overlapping Rosidal K short stretch compression bandages.)
