TG Stockinettes - Tubular Bandages, Stockinettes For Lymphedema Wrapping

The TG tubular stockinettes (tubular bandages) are seamlessly knit stockinettes which provide a light padding and protective under layer within a multi-layer compression bandage when used in conjunction with short stretch compression bandages for the treatment and management of acute and chronic lymphedema, venous edema, and other venous conditions. TG tubular stockinettes (tubular bandages) for lymphedema also help absorb excess perspiration to ensure a comfortable fit, regardless of activity levels during lymphedema complete decongestive therapy (CDT).

Ideally suited for and frequently used as the initial stockinette layer in compression bandaging for lymphedema, TG tubular stockinettes (tubular bandages) are often used in conjunction with other Lohmann & Rauscher bandaging products such as the Rosidal K short stretch bandage and Cellona foam padding.

You can also consider Edemawear compression stockinette for enhanced edema treatment.

TG Tubular Stockinettes / Tubular Bandages Washing Instructions

You can hand wash the TG tubular stockinettes (tubular bandages), and you should wash them on a regular basis (daily, if you are using lotions or creams). After washing, hang the stockinetes or lay them flat to air dry – don’t put them in the dryer. Before you air dry the TG stockinettes, don’t excessively squeeze them or wring them out, or you could damage the close-mesh structure of the tubular bandage.

If you have more than one TG tubular stockinette, you can wear one and wash the other one, then allow it to dry and recover its fullness before you wear it again.

When To Replace TG Tubular Stockinettes / Tubular Bandages

You will need to replace TG tubular stockinettes (tubular bandages) when they lose their shape and the close-mesh structure begins to come apart. Without the ability to fit comfortably without losing the shape, the TG tubular stockinette (tubular bandage) won’t be able to provide the right amount of skin protection and comfort to your limb. When stockinettes lose their shape, it is time to buy new tubular stockinettes (tubular bandages).

FAQs About TG Tubular Bandages For Lymphedema

TG tubular bandages are seamless, elastic bandages that come in tube form and offer mild compression. These tubular bandages are often used for the treatment of lymphedema and edema, as well as wound care, post-surgery care, and sprains and strains.

Below are frequently asked questions about TG tubular bandages.

  • What Are TG Tubular Bandages
  • TG tubular bandages, also known as TG stockinettes, are seamless, elastic bandages that can be easily pulled over an affected area of the body, without the need for clips or fasteners. Due to their elasticity, TG tubular bandages conform well and provide a snug fit, without restricting your movement.

  • What Are TG Tubular Bandages Made Of
  • TG tubular bandages are made from cotton and elastane (a synthetic fiber known for its exceptional elasticity). Elastane can stretch up to 5-8 times its original size and return to its original size, without losing form.

  • What Are The Top Features Of TG Tubular Bandages
  • TG tubular bandages have many appealing features. They are:

    •  - comfortable to wear
    •  - breathable
    •  - lightweight
    •  - seamless
    •  - latex-free
    •  - elastic and flexible (accommodates movement, without restricting blood flow)
    •  - reusable
    •  - easy to apply
    • What Are The Most Common Uses For TG Tubular Bandages
    • Because of their elasticity and light compression, TG tubular bandages are often used as the first layer in lymphedema and edema wrapping and bandaging. The tubular bandages are also used to secure wound dressings and to support sprains and strains.

    • How Do TG Tubular Bandages Provide Compression
    • TG tubular bandages provide compression through their elasticity, which allows the bandage to stretch and conform snugly. Because of their seamless, tubular design, TG bandages distribute compression evenly across the covered area.

    • How Are TG Tubular Bandages Applied
    • TG tubular bandages are easy to apply. You simply roll the bandage over the affected area. No clips, fasteners, or adhesives are required.

    • Can TG Tubular Bandages Be Used On Open Wounds
    • TG tubular bandages are used to secure a dressing in place over a wound. They and are not applied directly to open wounds.

    • Are TG Tubular Bandages Waterproof
    • TG tubular bandages are NOT waterproof. Made from breathable, absorbent materials, the bandages are designed to allow airflow, but they do not repel water. If TG tubular bandages become wet, they will absorb moisture, which can lead to skin irritation and discomfort.

    • Are TG Tubular Bandages Reusable
    • TG tubular bandages are reusable, but after repeated use and washing, they can lose some of their elastic stretch (which reduces their effectiveness). It is important to replace the bandages if they show signs of wear and fraying, or if they lose elasticity.

    • How Do You Care For TG Tubular Bandages
    • You can machine wash TG tubular bandages (on a gentle cycle, with a mild detergent). Dry the bandages on a flat surface or hang them up to dry. Never wring out the bandages, because that can stretch the fibers.

    • Are TG Tubular Bandages Recommended For Sensitive Skin
    • Latex-free, TG tubular bandages are soft and breathable, which makes them suitable for most types of sensitive skin.

    • Who Makes TG Tubular Bandages
    • TG tubular bandages are manufactured by Lohmann & Rauscher (L&R), a global company that is known for its high-quality products, including bandages, dressings, and compression products.
