The Gelocast® medicated bandage is made from non-raveling cotton gauze, impregnated with a refined zinc oxide and calamine paste formula uniformly distributed throughout the dressing for soothing relief and healing of dry, irritated or ulcerated skin. Smooth and easy to apply, the Gelocast® medicated bandage forms a semi-rigid cast after drying. Once dry, Gelocast® helps improve blood flow and circulation through gradient pressure, similar to that of short stretch compression bandages. A respected treatment indicated for the management of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) including venous stasis ulcers, venous edema and minor lower extremity trauma injuries.
