•  - Tubular Stockinette: The tubular stockinette is worn as the first layer to protect the skin and provide a comfortable base for bandaging.
  •  - Foam Roll: Foam is applied over the tubular stockinette to evenly distribute pressure, cushion bony areas, and help soften fibrotic (hardened) tissue.
  •  - Foam Padding: Foam padding enhances contouring, fills in gaps, and helps support even pressure across your lower leg.
  •  - Gauze Bandages: Gauze bandages are often used to secure the foam layers and to secure foam around your toes and foot.
  •  - Short Stretch Bandages: Short stretch bandages provide high working pressure when your muscles are active and low resting pressure when you are at rest. The bandages promote lymph fluid movement, without causing discomfort or restricting your circulation.
  •  - Medical Tape: Tape is used to secure the ends of the bandages and keep layers from unraveling.

Lymphedema bandages are typically reapplied daily, but check with your healthcare provider.

• Are The Bandages And Supplies Reusable

The stockinette and foam in the kit are reuseable (for short periods), and the short stretch bandages may be reused if they are clean and in good condition. The tape and gauze are disposable – designed for one-time use.

• Are The Short Stretch Bandages Washable

You can hand-wash the short stretch bandages (in a mild soap or detergent) and air-dry them. Do not machine wash or wring the bandages out, as this can damage the fibers.

• Are There Different Sizes Of Lower Leg Lymphedema Bandaging Kits

The lymphedema bandaging kit for the lower leg is a “one size fits all” kit, which should accommodate most leg sizes. If you have larger or smaller legs, you may need customized bandaging supplies.
